BALTIMORE – Synchronicity Boutique, the Baltimore-Washington area’s “hottest special occasion clothing and accessory shop for adults and teens,” has ordered more than 1,500+ Homecoming dresses, most of which already are in stock.
“Homecoming is becoming much bigger at schools, as girls dress up as fashionably for Homecoming as they do for Prom,” said Synchronicity Boutique Owner Karen Mazer. “Generally, customers prefer short dresses for Homecoming, unless their fall dance is a true formal.”
Homecoming Dresses Trends
As seen in the Boutique’s special Homecoming catalog and online at www.MyDreamDress.com, this year’s fashions tend to be “body hugging and sexy,” but in very different ways, according to Mazer. “One-shoulder and one- or two-sleeved dresses are huge for this season, as are dresses with cut-outs, draping/wide open backs or fronts, and the ‘Grecian Goddess’ look is making a big return.”
“Flesh tones, including nude/see-through dresses with strategic accents are gaining popularity, and black is coming back,” Mazer added. “Poofy party dresses still play a big role, but most are very short and have corseted tops.”
Big, chunky jewels, studs and sequins continue to dominate, with feathers (especially peacock) and animal prints (cheetah, in particular), also very popular. All of these elements are in style, both on the dresses, as well as on their accompanying accessories.
Our Homecoming Dress Designers:
Sized 00 to 30w, the dresses come from a variety of leading New York Dress Designers including:
This season, the Boutique also is carrying a larger selection of accessories including Alisha Hill and Johnathan Kayne Shoes.
